McRae FountainsMartha Ferris lives and works on her family's farm near Vicksburg, Mississippi.  Her work has been featured twice in the Mississippi Invitational, a biennial survey of what museum director Betsy Bradly has termed "some of the most provocative work being produced in the state,"  selected by guest curators from around the country.  Ferris has exhibited in galleries nationwide, and has created public art for several Mississippi projects, including the central rotunda of the McWillie School in Jackson, the first sea wall mural in Vicksburg, and the renovated railroad station in Jackson.  A constant experimenter with various media, she has been working for the past few years primarily in encaustics and pastels.

Martha is married to award winning writer and director Kos Kostmayer.
